How to set up a while loop with the context of counter being less than the total count of the array?

Heres my code how would i fix this problem?

let numbers = [2,8,1,16,4,3,9] var sum = 0 var counter = 0

// Enter your code below while counter < numbers.count { ++counter sum += numbers }

while.swift
let numbers = [2,8,1,16,4,3,9]
var sum = 0
var counter = 0

// Enter your code below
while counter < numbers.count {
  ++counter
  sum += numbers
}

shane, a couple of things. First, you need to use subscript notation so that each time through the loop you pick up the next value in the array. Second, you need to increment counter after you use it, not before. Otherwise you will miss the first value in the array, numbers[0]. Third, the shorthand for counter = counter + 1 is counter++, not ++counter.

while counter < numbers.count {
  sum += numbers[counter]
  counter++
}
