how to stack columns when resizing browsers

I have a 3 column layout on my page and they each have a class of "col-lg-4" I'd like to add a row and have a one column of "col-md-12" and a two column of "col-md-6" on medium size devises

to make thing simple.. I want a 3 column layout on lg devises

when resized to medium size I want 1 column and two columns below that how would I do this in the latest version of bootstrap?
