How to stop Safari from automatically reloading the page when watching videos?

Since I bought a MacBook Air M1, Safari keeps automatically refreshing on pages where a course video is playing. It says the page is using too much energy/resources. The video also doesn't remember where it stopped playing so I keep having to find the point in the video where the page reloaded.

I know one solution is to simply download Chrome, but I would like to keep using Safari if possible. I haven't had this issue on YouTube, even when watching 4K videos. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?

Thanks in advance!
