How to use len function?

Hello,

I'm not sure if I'm using the len function properly in this challenge. What do you guys think?

strlen.py
def just_right(string):
  if len(string) < 5:
    return("Your string is too short")
  else:
    return(True)

Hi Jacob,

You're using the len() function properly, but you failed to complete the challenge. It asks you to also return that the string is too long if it's longer than 5.

All this involved was adding an elif statement:

def just_right(string):
  if len(string) < 5:
    return("Your string is too short.")
  elif len(string) > 5:
    return("Your string is too long.")
  else:
    return(True)

Hi Jacob,

You're pretty much there, yes. But you need to handle the 'too long' option too:

code.py
def just_right(string):
  if len(string) > 5:
    return "Your string is too long"
  elif len(string) < 5:
    return "Your string is too short"
  return True

I hope that helps,

Steve.

Thank you both!
