iOS Swift Basics (retired) Control Flow If Statement

How was the variable (or constant) defined in the for statement? What was the use of "card" in this situation?

I would like to fully understand the use of the variable (or constant) "card" and why it was defined as such. Also, the previous lesson on the for loop, the format was completely different, this example did not have an increment stage.

Any explanation guys?
