I have Photoshop and Illustrator but not too experienced with them yet.

Courses Plus Student 10,660 PointsDarren, You could open up the background image in Photoshop and use Saturation, Color Overlay and other adjustments/blending modes in Photoshop to change the background image color a bit. Additionally, in Photoshop you could use the Filters panel to add more texture or different textures. Finally, to design your own background image from scratch, fire up your Photoshop, set your canvas color and "play around" with the different textures, blend modes, etc. available to help you create what you're looking for. You can find tons of amazing FREE background textures at deviantart.com as well as subtlepatterns.com.
