Hows my website look?

I'm currently doing a major redesign of my website, trying to make it look cleaner and sleek. I've already changed a lot but it still doesn't look quite right to me. The website is http://www.minecraftserverland.com/

Does anyone have any suggestions for what else I should change? Thanks!

I would make the slide shower banner a lot smaller, apart from that the site looks pretty nice!

I have never really liked the minecraft style >.< but i guess the design has to be related. Only thing maybe slow the speed of the slider down and id probably agree with Jack the slider is taking up a little to much space.

I would also make sure that the server that have paid to have their banners in the slider use the correct image size. There is one of the images that looks pretty pixilated although its slightly out of your control, it makes the site look less professional IMO.

The Register page could have the form centered too, having it to the left looks a little odd. Same with the Login page.

This has not got much to do with the look but rather the UX. For me I would like to see the top server on the front page, not the most recently updated.

Great site all round though. Over half a million views. Great work man I would love to chat with you about how you went about building it and maintaining it. I took a look at your social media(facebook) seems like you do a pretty good job with that too.

Best of luck!

Your website is coming along.

Two suggestions:

  1. More padding in the footer
  2. Spend more time on the images in the slider. The sliders size is fine, but only if you have some nice, high quality images to have in there.

Yea, people get to upload their own images for this because they are buying those slots. We try to instill in them that the images should look good for their own sake, but then again, minecraft server owners aren't the best at making good looking images.

I agree about the padding in your footer you have an awkward gap at the bottom where there is text but you are out of your background. Well at least it was awkward to me. Also I kind of felt like the page exploded on me. I'm not sure what caused that feeling but it just felt like an overload. When I got down from that I felt kind of confused about what was going on with the content. I've played only a tiny bit of mine craft but I don't feel like what the site really is came across. I mean is it a site promoting people to play on servers? Is it a site where people show off the cool things they made? Is it some other thing that is engrossed into the culture that I just don't get because I've only played a little tiny bit on mine craft on my phone? I guess that's just my $0.02 on the matter.

It's looking good. I have my own cardinal rule to have the content in the header, body and footer be aligned. Do you notice how the text in the footer is wider than the text in your body? How the featured image width is small than the body? Try to make them have the same margins on both sides to they align evenly.

Hope this helps! :)
