I added the \bin at the end and it still does not understand the 'javac' name

i have eclipse installed and it works fine with my java downloaded, i didn't even have a JAVA_HOME environment variable set before today and eclipse was working fine? please help?

Maybe you didn't install it properly. Try to check out this video How to set Path for Java, it shows how to do it very detailed.

The video above worked for me. I just edited my Path variable and added a ';' at the end of the line and then pasted the path 'C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_67\bin' right after it with no spaces and it should work after hitting okay a few times to confirm the change.
