Hi David, you have everything correct except the challenge requires you to echo out the statement, not store it in a new variable, like so:

<?php
$name = "Mike";

if($name === "Mike") {
  echo "Hi, I am Mike!";
}
?>

hope this helps!!

Thank you! I was getting frustrated and as you can see I'm very new to PHP.
