I am having difficulties on my windows machine via netbeans in using absolute filepaths. Can you help?

I am having trouble with this code: include(ROOT_PATH . "inc/header.php"). I am guessing this piece of code does not work for windows machine? Or I am having issues with netbeans config.

I am using NB 8 and the following code works in my instance of NB:

include('inc/header.php'); ?>
