I am still confused as to where the files and repositories go on my machine, after I create them. Where are they stored?

My command line says the files are in: /c/Windows/system32/my_first_repository/cool_project

However, I could not locate this directory on my machine. Where is it stored? Thank you.

Make sure you can view hidden files - under folder options. Also I would change the directory location to, maybe, documents.
