I am trying out this challenge and I get this error message ... Bummer! I was expecting `target` to be `_blank` not `` .

This is my code....

$(".external a").attr("target","_blank");

You are close.

the challenge states for you to target all links with the class "external". The answer you provided is selecting all links inside a parent element with the class 'external'. To target an element with a class you your do the following.

$("a.external").attr('target' ,'_blank');

I hope this helps
