I am using Mamp for Windows as I am using Windows OS is this advisable or I'll go for xampp?

just looking for advice ;)

I've used MAMP on Mac OS and it was excellent. Not sure how it'll handle Windows. There's also WAMP that might be worth a peek.

I use XAMPP and it works well, all you need to do is start apache and mysql and create a database to hold the wp data. easy peasy lemon squeezy.
