I basically got this but I have a question about #6.

The video shows it to be list.parentNode, I have banner.parentNode. Wouldn't these be the same and if not, why.

You're quite right, they are indeed the same.

The list and the nested div (banner) are siblings and share the same parent. So the parentNode of either one of them is the "wrapper" div.
