I can’t start my MySQL Server.

I downloaded server version 5.6.26 for Mac OSX 10.9 and the associated MySQL Workbench 6.3.4. However I cannot star the server using the utility tool and the MySQL server instance remains stopped even after introducing my password. Therefore the Workbench does not recognize any server and it’s impossible to input any script. I know the command line to be input into the Terminal must be modified (sudo cp /usr/local/mysql/support-files/my-default.cnf /etc/my.cnf) but I don’t know how. Can someone help me start MySQL Server. otherwise I’m stuck and can’t continue with the movies script.

you can download and install mamp, it comes with a mysql server, and you can run it from there

Thank you! That works fine.
