iOS Swift Basics (retired) Collections What is a Dictionary?

I cannot remove item from dictionary, as long as dictionary must be defined as constant. Shouldn't it be a variable?

I cannot remove item from dictionary, as long as dictionary must be defined as constant. Shouldn't it be a variable? I tried it in Xcode and it only worked as long as the dictionary is a variable. How am I supposed to do the challenge?

dictionaries.swift
let currencies = ["US":"Dollar","UK":"Pound","JP":"Yen"]

let ukCurrency = currencies.removeValueForKey("UK")

As far as i can see, the challenge asks to Assign the value for key "UK" to a constant named ukCurrency.

so what you will need is simply:

let ukCurrency = currencies["UK"]

I hope this helps ;-)

Yes it needs to be a variable and not a constant.

Thanks for the answer. Since the first needs to be constant and cannot be changed, I guess it is not possible to complete the challenge
