<ul>
  <?php foreach($flavors as $flavor) : ?>
  <li><?php echo $flavor; ?></li>
  <?php endforeach; ?>
</ul>

This should fix your code. You cannot use curly braces when using the alternative syntax method. You must use a colon after your control statement instead of an opening curly brace, then close your control structure with an ending statement such as endif, endfor, or endforeach instead of a closing curly brace.
