I can't find bug

I don't get it, where is the bug?

Hi there! If you look directly above the declaration of the $dismissButton you can see another declaration for a $placeHolder variable. This was then appended to the modal. Your dismissButton is already declared, but never appended to the modal. So Treehouse is asking you to write the line that actually appends it to the modal. You can do it the same way the placeHolder was appended :smiley:

:point_right: It looks like you never append the dismiss button to the modal.

Right after you define the button on line 9, I would expect to see a line like this:

$modal.append($dismissButton);

Oops, I didn't realize this was a challenge — I don't usually give spoilers. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
