I'd imagine it's because you nested your nav inside the link around your logo. Update that section to:

    <header>
      <a href="index.html">
        <h1>Nick Pettit</h1>
        <h2>Designer</h2>
      </a>
      <nav>
        <ul>
          <li><a href="index.html">Portfolio</a></li>
          <li><a href="about.html">About</a></li>
          <li><a href="contact.html">Contact</a></li>
        </ul>
      </nav>
    </header>

You can check other threads regarding this challenge here: https://teamtreehouse.com/community/code-challenge:852

Bound to be a working answer for you somewhere :)

When I follow the code challenge link it says not to add any list items or anchors. Try deleting what you have between your unordered list tags. If that doesn't work let us know what the error text says.
