JavaScript JavaScript Basics (Retired) Introducing JavaScript Link to an External Script

I can't run the program into the other html.

When I wrote the code for an alert message in my JavaScript file it would not load into the html file which is where I put my "src" tag into to pull from the JavaScript file.

index.html
<!DOCTYPE HTML>
<html>
<head>
  <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8">
  <title>JavaScript Basics</title>
</head>
<body>
  <script src="shout.js"></script>

</body>
</html>
shout.js

In the code shown above, the shout.js file is still empty.

Put your alert statement back in after selecting the shout.js tab and try again.
