JavaScript JavaScript Basics (Retired) Storing and Tracking Information with Variables Using String Methods

I can't seem to figure out the right combination/order of code here... This is the closest version I have come up with.

I think I am on the right track here but I can't seem to figure out how to properly combine the variables to return the correct data. Anyone have a hint for me? Thanks!

app.js
var id = "23188xtr";
var lastName = "Smith";
var lastName = lastName.toUpperCase();
var userName = id.toUpperCase();
id += userName + "#" + lastName;
index.html
<!DOCTYPE HTML>
<html>
<head>
  <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8">
  <title>JavaScript Basics</title>
</head>
<body>
<script src="app.js"></script>
</body>
</html>

Hi Nick! Please fixed your code. There is only a small difference. You don't need second lastName variables and delete the space before and after #. It must be merged in to userName variable.

var id = "23188xtr";
var lastName = "Smith";

var userName = id.toUpperCase()+"#"+lastName.toUpperCase();

awesome that worked thanks!
