for the second challenge they say to "Select the second SPAN element on the page and assign it to the variable lastName on line 2. " so in order to do this you need to use the method document.getElementsByTagName(). They say to use the span tag and there are 2 span tags so to get the 2nd span tag for last name you would do it like this

var fullName = document.getElementById("full_name");
var lastName = document.getElementsByTagName("span")[1];

The [1] at the end is referring to which span tag to get. The first span tag is [0] and the one we want is [1].
