Ruby Ruby Loops Ruby Loops The Ruby Loop

I do not know why the challenge fails

i do not know why after repeat("hi", 5) counter + 1 if counter = times break end end Does not work

loop.rb
def repeat(string, times)
  fail "times must be 1 or more" if times < 1
  counter = 0
  loop do
    # YOUR CODE HERE
    repeat("hi", 5)
    counter + 1
    if counter = times
      break
    end
  end
end

1 Answer

  1. The repeat method here takes in a string, and the challenge wants it printed within the body of the loop. This is missing
  2. The instructions do say "add 1 to the counter variable", but it would make more sense if it said: increment the counter variable by 1.
  3. In the condition of the if statement, you're setting counter equal to times instead of testing for equivalence
