5,799 PointsI do not understand the question
Using jQuery only, add to all links with the class "external", the target attribute with the value of "_blank"
$(".external").show("_blank");
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="css/style.css" type="text/css" media="screen" title="no title" charset="utf-8">
<title>Links Page</title>
</head>
<body>
<h1>Links</h1>
<ul>
<li><a href="http://google.com" class="external">Google</a></li>
<li><a href="http://yahoo.com" class="external">Yahoo</a></li>
</ul>
<script src="//code.jquery.com/jquery-1.11.0.min.js" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script>
<script src="js/app.js" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script>
</body>
</html>

33,990 PointsThe task is asking us to select all the anchor tags with the class "external" and add an attribute called "target" with the value of "_blank", so that is goes from this:
<li><a href="http://google.com" class="external">Google</a></li>
to this:
<li><a href="http://google.com" class="external" target="_blank">Google</a></li>
To do this we do the following:
$("a.external").attr('target' ,'_blank');
Hope that helps!!

28,149 PointsIt wants you to use jquery's attr method here: http://api.jquery.com/attr/
If you read the documentation, it shows you can set an attribute value by passing it the attribute name and the value as arguments. Does that help you?
