I dont get what is wrong

You mixed this up a little bit. You just have to create a function with a parameter which returns that parameter, and then assign a string value to a variable using it. The solution should look something like this:

function returnValue(parameter) {
  return parameter;
}

var echo = returnValue("Whatever");
