i don't know why but the style of my website isn't changing

i have been applying the steps learnt in videos, i don't know where i went wrong but the style isn't changing of the website

<style> </style> did you spell the tags correctly inside of your .html file ?

It's hard to diagnose the problem without your code. All I can really suggest is to open your html file in Google Chrome and check the Resources tab in Chrome's Developer Tools to make sure that the stylesheet is connected.
