I don't see why this is not working.

def just_right(mystr): if len(mystr) < 5: print("Your string is too short") elif len(mystr > 5): print("Your string is too long") else: return True

strlen.py
def just_right(mystr):
    if len(mystr) < 5:
        print("Your string is too short")
    elif len(mystr > 5):
        print("Your string is too long")
    else:
        return True

You have it set to "print" the messages, the challenge is expecting you to "return" them.

Aren't you supposed to do elif len(mystr) > 5 instead of elif len(mystr > 5)?

As Jeremy and Kevin have indicated separately...

:point_right: There are two separate issues:

  • The challenge asks that you return the strings, not print them.
  • The comparison "len(mystr > 5)" should be: "len(mystr) > 5"
