I don't understand why my code ain't working!

i have added the if and else statement but i don't know why it's not working.

var b = 20;
var c = 30;

if(a > b) {
    alert('a is GREATER than b!');
} else {
    alert('a is NOT greater than b!');

It's failing because you put the bang (exclamation point "!") at the end of your alert message.

As Dave pointed out, the challenges can be very picky about strings they give you. Be sure to always code sample outputs exactly as in the instructions. I recommend cut-and-paste to avoid typos.
