I get correct answer in my console but the exercise is not accepting my answer

string = [1, 2, 3, 4, 5] string[::-2] [5, 3, 1]

slices.py 
def first_4(string):
    return string[0:4]

def first_and_last_4(string):
    return string[0:4] + string[-4:]

def odds(string):
    return string[1::2]

def reverse_evens(li):
    return li[::-2]

Try [::2][::-1] instead of [::-2].

That worked. May I know the reason the -2 did not work?
