I have already purchased web hosting and have a domain name from a previous lesson. No clue what to do next.

I already purchased have domain name with the Web Hosting for Students and hosting through goDaddy from a previous lesson on html/css. I don't want to repurchase so what do I do now? I've spent a few hours on goDaddy.com and their WordPress ads make it seem like I need to purchase more hosting? Basically, I just need to know what are my next steps? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You'll want to install Wordpress through GoDaddy:

No need to purchase more hosting. You'll also need to point your DNS from GoDaddy to your domain at WHFS once you've got wordpress installed... I recommend posting a separate question once you get to that point.

Hey Greg... When I follow these instructions it takes me to this page: https://www.godaddy.com/hosting/web-hosting.aspx It seems there is no way around not paying to have a WordPress? Sorry, I'm lost with this. Thanks for your help.

Your original post said you had hosting through GoDaddy. If you have hosting through WHFS, you'll want to go to yourdomain.com/cpanel and there are options to set up wordpress there, I believe.

First, get your nameservers from your other hosting and then set them using Setting Custom Nameservers for Domains on goDaddy

https://support.godaddy.com/help/article/12317/setting-custom-nameservers-for-domains-registered-with-us?locale=en

most of the time they give you two nameservers make sure you set both.

  1. Then log in into your hosting account and set up the domains.

if you select "I already have a domain name :)" when setting up yourr account with the hosting company AND you used the same domain name that you already have with do daddy, your hosting is ready to be used after setting up custom name servers on Godaddy.

Hi Jorge... Web Hosting for Students was the one I used for hosting.
