i have tried multiple combinations and i dont know what i am missing

You're close, but you have a few issues:

  • the instructions say to use the variable inputValue (instead of "input")
  • the input element has no class name, so it can't be selected with a class selector
  • the input does have an id, and can be selected using that or just by the tag name
