I keep keep getting the error undefined method `image' for nil:NilClass whenever I launch my code.

Whenever I try to launch my code I keep getting the error undefined method `image' for nil:NilClass for this line of code

<%= link_to (image_tag @random_post.image.url(:medium)), post_path(@random_post) %>

How do I get rid of it?

1 Answer

The main problem is that your @random_post is returning nil. If your controller is creating the correct @random_post and everything else is correct you may just want to add a quick check for the @random_post.

<% if @random_post %>
  <%= link_to (image_tag @random_post.image.url(:medium)), post_path(@random_post) %>
<% end %>

Hope this helps. :]
