I like the leaderboard a lot. But isn't it possible to show the people that are in front of me not behind?

In the leaderboards i can only see the two persons that are behind me, i think it would be more motivating, if i could see some people that are in front of me. What do you think?

The leaderboards have some more serious issues, as previously discussed.

Until those are fixed, the concepts of "ahead" and "behind" are not accurately represented anyway, particularly in the per-topic all-time points.

I'm still hopeful that it will be fixed soon. I agree with you that it could potentially be a fun and motivating feature.

:loudspeaker: UPDATE: The leaderboards appear to be fixed.

As of yesterday, the problem affecting the leaderboards appears to have been resolved. :tada:

Yup that might be pretty motivational to see that if the skill level or points of the member as high as yours.

By the way I am gonna go a bit off topic here to know: How is it going for you on here? I see that you have around 4k points on JS - did going through all the courses helped you out in giving you the ahhh moments, securing a better job or learning what you didn't know before theoretically or practically?

Question for Steven Parker and Francisco Galera (sorry forgot to tag you guys before).

Saad, (now that I know you were asking me also) I have been a professional software developer long before I discovered Treehouse so it hasn't gotten me a "better job", but it has certainly helped in doing my job better.. I've found the courses here very helpful in keeping up with emerging technologies as well as reviewing and sharpening my existing skills.

Hi Saad, i think the leaderboard is a very motivating and crucial tool for some of us, so that i wouldn't prefer to mix this discussion. Feel free to contact me or open another Question and i will try to respond your question.

I also like the leaderboards, but am in agreement with Steven Parker in regards to things needing to be fixed in a more general sense. This (as Steven notes) is particularly noticeable on the points-per-topic categories. But, yes, I think this can be a motivational tool and a way to keep personal track of your progress and efforts over time.

Hi Jennifer — congratulations on reaching the all-time top 10 (assuming that part is still working!). :+1:

I think my proposal can be considered as a separate topic, altough I do share your wish that the bug about shown points-per-topic should be fixed. It should be an easy task to develop my proposal. What is your opinion about my proposal?

It's a good idea, Franciso, in fact I've thought it would be nice to freely scroll both above and below your own position.
But the long-awaited functional repairs must come first.   (Update: They did!)

I agree. It is a good idea. I also like Steven's idea of being able to scroll through the list.

if they showed the person ahead of you and the person behind you that would be an improvement.
