iOS Swift 2.0 Collections and Control Flow Introduction to Collections Working with Arrays

I need to retrieve the 5th item in the array and assign the result to a constant named value. Any suggestions?

I assigned the constant value the .removeAtInt but the editor says that [4] is not an Int

arrays.swift
// Enter your code below
var arrayOfInts = [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]

arrayOfInts.append(7)
arrayOfInts + [8]

let value = arrayOfInts.removeAtIndex[4]

1 Answer

var arrayOfInts = [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]

arrayOfInts.append(7)
arrayOfInts += [8] //adding the value 8
let value = arrayOfInts[4] // value will have the value 5
let discardedValue = arrayOfInts.removeAtIndex(5) //removing the 6th item from the array
