I ran my code in the console and it seemed to work, but I'm still failing the quiz. plz help :D. ty

Bummer: There was an error with your code: ReferenceError: Strict mode forbids implicit creation of global property 'a'

script.js
function max(a, b) {
  if (b > a);
  return b;
  }

a = 11;
b = 12;

Nevermind! I figured it out a few minutes later.

function max(a, b) { if (b > a) { return b; } }

max(11, 12);

Your modified function will pass the challenge, but it doesn't return a value if the second argument is less than or equal to the first argument, such as max(12, 11) or max(12, 12).
