HTML HTML Forms Form Basics Create a Submit Button

I was asked to add a button within a form element. I have done this and the test fails.

I have added a button element inside the form element and I'm still told that I haven't done this.

<!DOCTYPE html>
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    <title>HTML Forms</title>
    <form action="index.html" method="post">
      <input id="name" type="text" name="user_name">
      <textarea id="comment" name="user_comment">
        <button>Submit Comment</button>

Hi Thomas,

The textarea element is not self-closing and needs to be:

<textarea id="comment" name="user_comment"></textarea>

Because that's not closing it will be effecting the test results. Try closing that up and your button should work.

Thanks! That fixed it. I'm not sure why the earlier test past in this case.
