Hosting with Wordpress.com is generally free, but it doesn't give you all the options an installation on your own server would. If you are just getting started with WP, it's probably the easiest and best way to go. Most of the courses should apply to wp.com hosted websites, although custom themes and some plugins they discuss won't be available for you.

If you get started with wp.com now, you can always upgrade to wp.org through the Jetpack plugin, but the course will tell you everything about that.

Good luck with your new wordpress website!

thanks man i bought a domain but didnt know about the hosting sure I know its cheap but wasnt prepared for it, soon hopefully. Thanks guys

If you have the domain, you are most likely able to add a dns redirect to WordPress.com, so you can use the domain on the WordPress servers to use their hosting while using your own domain instead of the subdomain they provide you with.

Here are some instructions on that topic: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

oh wow thats cool but it would still be a wordpress.com not org right

Yes, that way you can use all the features and benefits of wordpress.com while having your own domain linked to the wp webspace.
