If servers use numbers to find things then do websites have IP Addresses?

I was wondering because Joy said servers find sites using numbers than do all websites have one?

Hmmm... Good question, technically yes. But not all websites have a unique IP address.

The IP address is the server that your websites files are stored on, so a site can share the same IP address as another if it shares the same server.

So, the IP address itself is a number assigned to your computer or device. It was designed for communication in Internet Protocol, and serves two main purposes: host or network i.d. and location.

Like Andrew said, the IP address of the site depends upon the server so if you were to backtrack that IP you might be able to see what other sites are hosted on said web server.

You may have difficulties finding that info if the individual is using a Private Network (VPN).
