HTML

Illegal character in scheme data: \ is not allowed.

Checking my html code and received this error message:

Error: Bad value C:\Users\Holly\Desktop\Coding\pro2\pro2.css for attribute href on element link: Illegal character in scheme data: \ is not allowed.

Using Visual Studio. How should I write my file path if "\" is not allowed? Thx!

Reversing the direction of the slashes did the trick. Thanks for the quick response!!!

Some ideas:

  • enclose the whole URL in quotes
  • substitute "/" for "\"
  • try using two characters "\\" to represent each one

If none of these work (individually or in combination), try showing your complete code here.
