HTML HTML Forms Choosing Options Create a Select Menu

I'm doing a test on one of the html track and I think i've answered the question correctly but it says it's wrong.

Question is to add a submit button with the text 'Place Order' within the form field

This is what I've done:

<!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <meta charset="utf-8"> <title>HTML Forms</title> </head> <body>

<form action="index.html" method="post">
  <h1>Shirt Order Form</h1>

  <label for="color">Shirt Color:</label>
  <select id="color" name="shirt_color">

    <option value="red">Red</option>
    <option value="yellow">Yellow</option>
    <option value="purple">Purple</option>
    <option value="blue">Blue</option>
    <option value="green">Green</option>
    <option value="orange">Orange</option>

    <button type="submit">Place Order</button>

</form>

</body> </html>

index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
  <head>
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    <title>HTML Forms</title>
  </head>
  <body>

    <form action="index.html" method="post">
      <h1>Shirt Order Form</h1>

      <label for="color">Shirt Color:</label>
      <select id="color" name="shirt_color">

        <option value="red">Red</option>
        <option value="yellow">Yellow</option>
        <option value="purple">Purple</option>
        <option value="blue">Blue</option>
        <option value="green">Green</option>
        <option value="orange">Orange</option>

        <button type="submit">Place Order</button>

    </form>

  </body>
</html>

Hi Charlotte Holt

You're doing great and are really close. There is just one small thing missing.

In the form element, you open a <select> tag, and inside that you have the <option> tags. This is all correct. However, you placed the <button> inside of the <select> tag, which won't work.
So, all you need to do is to close the </select> tag after the all the options, then have the <button> and then close the </form>. So the structure will look something like:

<form>
  <select>
    <option>...</option>
    <option>...</option>
    <option>...</option>
    <option>...</option>
  </select>
  <button>...</button>
</form>

I think you'll get it now! :) If you're still stuck, let me know.

Nice work!! :) :dizzy:
