I want to use Destinations and Slideshows, like in the tutorial. Do I use wordpress.com or wordpress.org and based on the answer to that question, how do I add Destinations and Slideshows to the dashboard? In wordpress.com I can't figure it out. Also, in wordpress.org I go to localhost:8888/wordpress and my first webpage displays with a dashboard that doesn't look anything like what is in the tutorial. Thank you for your help. mw

In general, I'd recommend using the self-hosted version of WordPress (what you download from wordpress.org) over WordPress.com, which is more limited in how you can modify it (you can't add plugins, for one thing, which you need for this project.)
Take a look at this Treehouse video - it tells you which plugins (Custom post types and fields) you'll need to get Destinations set up in your WordPress install.
Can you take a screenshot of what you're seeing so that we can better see what's going on with your local installation?
