I'm not sure what I need to correct in order to continue.

Not sure what I need to change in my statements.

Oh wait, I see what happened! You need to put it inside the <script></script> tags.

<!DOCTYPE HTML>
<html>
<head>
  <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8">
  <title>JavaScript Basics</title>
</head>

<body>
</body>

<script>
document.write("Welcome to my site");
</script>

</html>

I just copy/pasted it into the challenge and it worked for me. You probably don't need that alert or the extra document.write() though.

If it still isn't working, could you tell us what it does instead of working? If there's an error message, copy and paste it.
