Python Python Collections (2016, retired 2019) Slices Slice Functions

I'm not sure why the function reverse_evens wouldn't return the answer they are looking for here.

I'm measuring the length of the list and based on that determining how to return the even indexes. I've tested this outside of the web based app and it works. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

slices.py
def first_4(name):
    return name[0:4]

def first_and_last_4(name):
    return name[:4] + name[-4:]

def odds(index):
    return index[1::2]

def reverse_evens(evens):
    evensLen=len(evens)
    if evensLen % 2 == 0:
        return evens[-2::-2]
    else:
        return evens[-1::-2]

Your code looks good to me. :+1: So I tested it by pasting it directly into the challenge and it passed!

Perhaps try restarting your browser?

Thanks. You were right. I closed out and re-opened and it worked. How frustrating!? haha! Thanks for your help.
