iOS Swift Basics (retired) Collections What is a Dictionary?

Im stuck at the challenge Assign the value for key "UK" to a constant named "ukCurrency" Please help me

Its not letting me through the code I have written for it. What is the right solution

dictionaries.swift
let currencies = [ "US" : "Dollar" , "UK" : "Pound" , "JP" : "Yen" ]
let ukCurrency = "Hey"
currencies["UK"] = ukCurrency

Hi Ikjap Singh,

You have the correct code for this challenge, however, it's in the wrong place and you have more code than you need.

  1. Your ukCurrency constant should be referencing the value for the key UK
  2. currencies["UK"] shouldn't be trying to assign a new value as constants can't be changed
let currencies = [ "US" : "Dollar" , "UK" : "Pound" , "JP" : "Yen" ]
let ukCurrency = currencies["UK"]
