I have assigned the <span> a class = par1
when I target that class in .css and apply the font weight and style to complete the test the test tells me i have not targeted the <span> properly

229,644 PointsThe instructions "Create a new rule that targets the span element inside .intro" should be done entirely in CSS. Don't make any changes to the HTML.
You can target an element that is inside another one using a descendant selector. This is just a selector for the container followed by a selector for the target with a space between them.
