Hi Eugene Basically you need to input that question into logical expression. But first you must separate the character inside the discountCode String right? You can use .toCharArray() method to the discountCode since it is a string.

Then you test the logical expression using if statement. Remember the challenge ask you to verify: IF The discountCode consist of letter or '$'. if not then raise Exception right?

So if we turn it around it will be: FOR each character in discountCode: IF the character in discountCode is NOT(a letter OR '$') then raise exception: to put that statement to logical expression will be like this: !(is a letter OR '$')

Thus if you write it in Java it will be like this:

for (char letter : discountCode.toCharArray()){
      if (!(Character.isLetter(letter) || letter == '$')){
         //what will you do if it is not a letter or '$'? Throw something??
        }
}

The rest you can adjust it yourself I hope. I hope this will help you a little.
