increment operator ++ and +=

Hi, What is the difference b/w increment operator ++ and +=? Thanks.

Take a look at these examples:

var number = 0

number++  // This will increase the number variable by one
number += 3  // This will increase the number variable by three

This being said, for some reason the Code Challenge for this lesson will only seems to accept the ++ operator and not the += operator.
