PHP PHP Basics (Retired) PHP Operators Operators


The ++ and -- unary operators in PHP are called the increment and decrement operators, respectively. These are not called autoincrement and autodecrement operators. The auto prefix in AUTO_INCREMENT is used in SQL to indicate that a index field is automatically incremented when a new INSERT command is executed.
