Installing PHP on Linux

I run Ubuntu on my computer and Linux wasn't covered in the installing PHP videos. I need help on how to do this please.

found this in the ubuntu docs. seems pretty straight forward.

I'm very new to all of this. This is talking about how to do it on a server so I'm not sure the difference when just trying to put it on my own computer so that I can see the code or whatever they are wanting in this basic project.

Seems as though I'm stuck again, however, since I have no idea how to do the thing he talks about with a file because I'm not sure where to navigate since I don't use windows or mac. My hubby will be home shortly and he is a web programmer so I'm sure he can help me. Thanks for your help though Stone.

no problem, if you are going to be using linux I would recommend getting familiar with using the command line. Treehouse has a great course on that called Console Foundations

Thanks for the recommendation. I do know a bit about the command line. My husband keeps trying to get me more used to it. :)

oh well thats good. Yeah its very helpful to know, especially when using tools like git and other things that can only be used from the command line.
