Installing SQLWorkbench when XAMPP is already installed

I need SQLWorkbench for the sql part of the course but already have Xampp from another track which of course already includes MySQL together with Apache et al but not, as far as I can see, does it contain SQLWorkbench. I have a bad feeling about installing MySQL from the MySQL site as I am concerned issues will arise when it encounters the components already installed in Xampp. Does anyone have any advice on this or shall I just go ahead and see what happens!?
